Applying and onboarding
Who can apply to volunteer?+
People who want to support Run for Life in event-day, safety, medical, logistics or coordination roles may apply. An Event Admin will match approved applicants to suitable roles.
What information do I need to provide?+
Your contact information, organisation or school, relevant Life Community programmes, T-shirt size, dietary restrictions, and medical or health information needed for safe planning.
Does submitting the form confirm my role?+
No. An Event Admin reviews each application first. Your role, zone and post are confirmed when you are onboarded.
How will I know that I am onboarded?+
An Event Admin will assign you to Event Crew and invite you to create your Crew Portal password.
Can I update information after applying?+
Contact Life Community if your contact, dietary, medical or availability information changes before event day.
Crew Portal and communication
How do I enter the Crew Portal?+
Use the email address and password for your approved Run for Life account. If you forget your password, use the reset link on the sign-in page.
What can I find in the portal?+
Your role, zone and post; the event schedule; briefing notes and files; emergency contacts; medical points; and global or zone team messages.
What if I cannot sign in?+
Check that you are using the approved email address and password for your application. Use Forgot password if necessary, or contact an Event Admin for account assistance.
Who can see my messages?+
Global messages are available to onboarded event crew. Zone messages are limited to your assigned operational zone and authorised Event Admin users.
Should I use the portal for an emergency?+
Call 995 first for any life-threatening emergency, then alert the Event Operations Team. The portal supports coordination but does not replace emergency calls.
Preparing for event day
When and where is the event?+
Saturday, 21 November 2026, from 7:00am to 11:00am at Silver Garden, Gardens by the Bay.
What time should volunteers arrive?+
Volunteer reporting times vary by role and may be earlier than 7:00am. Follow the schedule and instructions published in your Crew Portal.
What should I bring?+
Bring a fully charged phone, a power bank, water, weather protection and any items listed in your briefing. Wear the assigned event attire and suitable footwear.
Will there be a briefing?+
Yes. The Event Operations Team will publish briefing notes and may upload slides or files in the Crew Portal. Check for updates before event day.
How do I know where to report?+
Your role, zone and assigned post appear in the Crew Portal. Your zone lead or the Event Operations Team will provide any final reporting instructions.
Safety, conduct and privacy
What happens in bad weather?+
The event generally proceeds rain or shine. Follow Event Operations Team announcements if severe weather requires a delay, route change, shelter action or cancellation.
What should I do if someone is injured or unwell?+
For life-threatening conditions call 995 first. Notify the Event Operations Team, give a clear location and follow your safety briefing. Do not move a casualty unless there is immediate danger.
May I photograph participants?+
Do not photograph or record children or vulnerable persons without organiser approval. Do not publish event images where approval is required.
How is my medical information protected?+
Dietary and medical information is restricted to authorised Event Admins for volunteer safety and planning. It is not shown to other volunteers in the Crew Portal.
What if I can no longer volunteer?+
Tell the Event Operations Team as early as possible so your post can be reassigned and operational coverage remains safe.
